St. John's Dad passed away on June 4, 2016, he was born in Port Kirwan, NL. to John and Beatrice Fennelly (both deceased). He passed away peacefully at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Besides his parents he was predecease­d by his son Wayne and his baby sister Wilhelmina. He leaves behind his wife Mary (nee Trainor), of 63 years and children: Sheila Nowlon (Dale), Ron Fennelly (Joanne), Pamela Clancey, and Yvonne Fennelly; grandchild­ren: Stephen, Dallin, Ronnie, Christophe­r, Evan and Samantha; his brothers: Martin, Adrian, and John; his sisters: Mary Hagan, Pauline Fennelly, Veronica Walsh, and Leonnie MacDonald and their families, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Dad served as a Merchant Marine in WWII and worked for the Department of Transporta­tion most of the rest of his life, with his last position at the Coast Guard Bldg. in St. John's. Dad was a quiet man who always did his best for his family and friends. He loved his Blue Jays the news, and politics. Special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff on 7 West at St. Clare's and the staff at the Caribou Memorial Veteran's Pavilion. Service to be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave in St. John's on Wednesday, June 8. 2016 at 11:30am, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road. Following the interment, a gathering for friends and family will be held at his son Ron Fennelly's home at 118 Reddy Dr., Torbay. In lieu of flowers please sent donations in Dad's memory to St. Clare's Mercy Hospital through the Health Care Foundation or the Lung Associatio­n.
