Another male was taken to hospital following an earlier dirt bike accident on Torbay Road near Cox Marsh Road in Torbay. The male appeared to be riding his dirt bike on the shoulder of Torbay Road when the incident happened. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
A third motorcycle accident occurred in Torbay as well Sunday evening.
One man was taken to hospital with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries following a collision on North Pond. It appeared the man lost control of the dirt bike he was riding and struck both a mailbox and garbage box before colliding with a parked car.
A fourth incident on Aldershot Street in the afternoon left a house and car damaged.
Police and firefighters were called to the area just before 5 p.m. after a car apparently struck and damaged a house and fence near Summer Street. There were no injuries in the incident, which left the vehicle sitting in the street with damage to the front end. Pieces of fence were strewn on the sidewalk next to the home, which also sustained some damage.
A fifth accident resulted in one man being taken to hospital after the car he was driving went into a ditch on Forest River Road in Torbay Sunday afternoon.
The Torbay Volunteer Fire Department, Eastern Health paramedics and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to the accident on the quiet side street after reports that a vehicle had left the road in the area. No information was available as to the extent of the victim’s injuries. There were no other vehicles involved.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating all five incidents.
