REAL ESTATE MATTERS

Sherry Butt... “I believe in being honest and realistic!”
A natural career move
“Before I entered real estate just over two years ago, I had a great 11-year career in aviation and I could’ve stayed with it, but I honestly felt something was missing. I had lost my passion and I wanted to regain it and reignite the spark. I certainly found that in real estate!” Sherry Butt is part of Team Burton at RE/MAX Infinity. She not only enjoys the work (even with its long days and demanding hours) but she is effective in it. Also check out lilmissrealtor.com
Thinking outside the box
While Sherry respects the traditional ways of doing business, she is bringing her own ideas to her work. “For example, I wanted to have an agents’ open house on a large and challenging property. So I made a little party punch, got some pizzas and held the event on a Friday evening. It went over very well (and we sold the property!)
Getting to know customers
“With clients looking for a new home, I first of all want to get to know them. What do they expect in a house? Do they want a garden? Do they dream of building a home theatre in the basement some time? So we sit down together - it might be at a coffee shop - and we chat. I’m making notes. And when I send prospective houses to them, it’s based on their specs. In this business, you’ve got to listen to the client - that’s important and it works!”
“Never far off my radar”
When well-known Realtor (and owner of RE/MAX Infinity) Jim Burton mentioned to Sherry at Rotary that she’d “be great in real estate”, he was speaking about something that she had, in fact, considered. “So it was a very natural career move for me.”
Hook, line and sinker
This is exciting work for newcomer Sherry Butt. Already she has two awards to her credit “It excites me to be part of the homebuyer’s journey, especially with first-home buyers. I honestly LOVE my new career. I’m passionate and work hard for my clients. I’m into real estate, hook, line and sinker!”
