Suspect in carjacking linked to second homicide
MONTREAL — Montreal police say a suspect is now connected with two homicides that left a woman and a man dead in separate incidents. Major-crimes investigators are linking the two events to a 21-year-old man who was arrested after a lengthy chase in a town south of Montreal earlier today. But a police spokesman says there are no links between the two victims. The suspect remains in police custody and hasn’t appeared in court as of yet. One of the victims is a 49-yearold woman who was shot late Sunday night in an apparent carjacking in a gas station parking lot in the Pointe-aux-Trembles neighbourhood in the eastern part of the city. The second is a man in his 20s whose body was found in an east-end apartment earlier Sunday evening.
