Would-be Canada Games hoopsters have one last chance

Final tryout sessions for male and female athletes looking to be selected to the Newfoundland and Labrador’s 2017 Canada Games basketball teams will be held later this month at the NL Sports Centre in St. John’s. The sessions, to be held Dec. 22 and 23, represent the final tryout for the Games teams. The sessions are open to athletes born in 2000 and 2001. There will be no charge, but athletes will register through the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association prior to the tryouts and are asked to bring a reversible jersey and basketball. The 2017 Canada Summer Games are being held in Winnipeg.
