Midday impaired drivers caught in Paradise, Mount Pearl
The RNC was called to a school in Paradise when the alarm went off shortly before noon Monday, and officers found an impaired driver in a parked car.
The 28-year-old man was charged with impaired driving, refusing the breathalyzer and having open liquor in a vehicle. He was released to appear in court at a later date. Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, RNC patrol services spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Commonwealth Avenue in Mount Pearl around 12:30 p.m. When police stopped the vehicle, the driver ran away, leading police on a short chase.
The 42-year-old man is charged with impaired driving and resisting arrest.
Police also say the man had a suspended licence. He was held in custody for a court appearance.
