Economy on Dwight Ball’s agenda at national meeting of premiers
Premier Dwight Ball is in Edmonton, Alta., for a meeting of Canadian premiers Tuesday and today.
On the premiers’ agenda are economic and social topics, including Canada-united States relations, global trade and infrastructure, criminal justice reform, opioids and the legalization of cannabis. Ball stated in a news release he will also raise concerns about the economy and job creation, spending on infrastructure and skills training, and co-operation on energy issues, including renewable energy and better environmental review processes. The Council of the Federation comprises all 13 provincial and territorial premiers. “These meetings are a good opportunity for premiers to discuss common issues and identify ways that we could collaborate to address them,” Ball stated.
