Rock lose to Blues in CRC opener
The Atlantic Rock opened their 2017 Canadian Rugby Championship season with a loss Saturday, a 24-17 setback to the reigning Mactier Cup champion Ontario Blues.
The game was played in Truro, N.S. This season marks the first time in CRC play, and the Rugby Canada Super League prior to that, that the Swilers Rugby Club is not playing host to a Rock game.
Only four games per team are scheduled in the CRC this season, and the Rock’s remaining three will be played during a seven-day stretch in August in Calgary
The Rock meet the B.C. Bears Aug. 13, followed by a game against the Prairie Wolf Pack Aug. 16. The gold- and bronze medal-games are set for Aug. 19.
