Brockerville set to run in Africa today
Marystown native Ryan Brockerville will run today in the men’s 3,000-metre steeplechase final of the 2017 Jeux Francophonie (Francophone Games) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The 27-year-old Brockerville, who lives and works in British Columbia, is one of two Newfoundlanders on Canada’s track and field team at the Games. The other is 23-year-old sprinter Daniel Kelloway of Mount Pearl, who runs in the preliminary heats of the 400m on Tuesday. There were no preliminaries in the steeplechase.
Both Brockerville and Kelloway ran track at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C.
