Geeks and freaks gather at Mile One
Hundreds of people attended the Avalon Expo fan convention at Mile One Centre in St. John’s during weekend. Invited celebrities included actor René Auberjonois, who portrayed the shapeshifter Odo on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and actor Colin Baker, who portrayed “Doctor Who” in the famous BBC series. The show also featured cosplay characters and costume contest, makeup workshops, a virtual reality video game exhibit and vendors selling everything from comic books to wigs.
