Targa NL starts today

The 16th annual Targa Newfoundland auto rally gets under way today with the tech/registration day in St. John’s. Prologue Stages are slated for Sunday, and actual competition starts in St. John’s Monday.

It concludes back in the capital city next Friday.

The rally will cover more than 1,600 kilometers of the Avalon, Bonavista and Burin Peninsulas, including over 440 kilometers of closed-road, flat-out Targa stages. Competitors hail from Newfoundland and Labrador, and across Canada, the United States and some from Europe.
