The cast of the hit Canadian comedy TV series has been on the road since early September, travelling across Canada and giving audiences a sneak preview of the show’s second season.
They finished up the crosscountry tour on Tuesday, in St. John’s at Gonzaga High School.
“It feels so good to be back,” said Power. “The theatre arts scene at Gonzaga is what made me want to pursue acting.”
Power plays Shannon on “Kim’s Convenience” and is originally from Middle Cove.
Power, who spent her high school years at Gonzaga, was surrounded Tuesday by her co-stars Paul Sun-hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, Andrea Bang and Simu Liu during a visit to her old school.
A group of Gnzaga’s drama and english students participated in a question and answer period with the cast.
The cast spoke about everything from their most emotional scenes, to life on the road.
“It’s been a great way to get to know each other even better,” said Power. “We even got to see each others’ homes along the way.”
Mayor Bert Hickey presented Power with a key to the town of Middle Cove on Tuesday evening.
“It’s such an honour, I was given so many amazing opportunities in that town growing up,” said Power. “I probably spend too much time bragging about how I’m from Newfoundland.”
