Stantec calls for St. John’s businesses to get in Christmas spirit

-

Stantec is challenging other St. John’s businesses to enter floats in the 29th annual Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade.

“Our local Stantec team really comes together for the Christmas parade,” said Craig Adams, a senior mechanical technologist with Stantec. “Our promise at Stantec is to design with community in mind and, every year, this parade helps to bring together the St. John’s community and beyond. So, it’s a perfect fit for us, and we want to challenge other local businesses to get involved, too.”

Last year, five St. John’s businesses entered the corporate challenge. Stantec is looking to double that number in 2017.

The best float entered in the Stantec Corporate Challenge will be determined by a panel of judges, and the winner will win a $500 donation to a charity of their choice.

Stantec is also in charge of designing a new sleigh for big guy.

Santa’s new sleigh will be unveiled at this year’s parade, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 26.

“It’s going to have quite a few bells and whistles,” said Adams. “We think Santa is going to love it. We’re told he’s going to be visiting our workshop to inspect the progress before the big day, so we’re hard at work to be ready on time.”

The deadline to enter a float in the Stantec Corporate Challenge is Oct. 30.
