There’s always someone who will say ‘they’re just doing that to get noticed’ … But I think it’s a good thing to be noticed for.”

Kenneth Muise

Keith Muise of Stephenville, has taken the internet by storm with his parody video “Snow Pants” sung to the tune of “Slow Hands” by Niall Horan.

Now living in Fort Mcmurray, Alta., Muise says the inspiration for the song came from his three-year-old son, who was singing the words “snow hands.”

“I don’t want to admit that I like the One Direction guys because I’m an old school music lover,” he laughed, “But hey, it’s catchy.”

The video was uploaded to his Youtube channel —80s Summer Camp — which he kick-started after the 2016 Fort Mcmurray wildfires.

“During the fires, my fatherin-law took a turn for the worse in his fight with cancer,” said

Muise. “We were told that he had one week to live while we were escaping the town on fire.”

Muise told The Telegram that he had a rough few years, and he got in a habit of being angry.

“I was ruining my life,” he said. “Until you decide to change, you are just going to stay in your old ways.”

From that point forward, he says he has been trying to provide people with positivity in the form of music and comedy.

The 80s Summer Camp is on its way to becoming a virtual summer camp.

Each month, two lists will be posted on the 80s Summer Camp Facebook page; Camper activities and camper deeds.

“For example, one of the deeds might be shovel a neighbour’s driveway,” said Muise. “We want people to start glamourizing good deeds.”

Muise says he will then repost the video of the deed to his Facebook page.

“There’s always someone who will say ‘they’re just doing that to get noticed’,” he said. “But I think it’s a good thing to be noticed for.”
