Senior teams locking horns this weekend
The first provincial senior hockey interlocking games of 2018 will be played this weekend as the St. John’s Green Sleeves Caps and Northeast Eagles of the East Coast Senior Hockey League travel to central Newfoundland for games.
On Saturday night, the Caps take on the Central West Senior Hockey League-leading Kelly Ford Flyers in Gander, while Eagles take on the CWSHL’S Grand Falls-windsor Cataracts at Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium. Both games have 7:30 p.m. starts.
The visiting teams switch towns on Sunday, with the Caps in Grand Falls and the Gander for contests that start at 1:30 p.m.
The CWSHL’S Clarenville Ford Caribous are idle this weekend.
The two ECSHL teams not travelling have a home-andhome series this weekend. The Southern Shore Puglisevich Breakers take on the Conception Bay Blues 7:30 p.m. tonight at the C.B.S. Arena, while the Breakers will play the hosts as they face the Blues 8 p.m. Saturday at the Southern Shore Arena.
