Paradise detour to allow for paving
Traffic on Topsail Road to be re-routed for about a week
The Town of Paradise is continuing its Topsail Road widening project, including paving next week requiring detours around a section of the road.
Drivers are being asked to note the detours will be in place at times for both directions along the roadway, from St. Thomas Line to Carlingford Street.
The paving is expected to take about a week, according to a town notice issued Friday.
The Town of Paradise says the plan is to allow eastbound traffic to flow along Topsail Road to 9 a.m., then begin to detour the traffic through Spracklin Boulevard.
Westbound traffic will be detoured through Carlingford Street, but starting at 4 p.m. will be allowed to run through Topsail Road.
In addition to legally required cautions in the construction zone, there will be monitoring of traffic by municipal officials, and the town has asked for additional police patrols.
The statement included an apology for any inconvenience as a result of the roadwork.
