Police seek help after a pair of break-ins over the last week

-

An early morning break-in Thursday at a business in St. John’s has police looking for the owners of a burnt-out Jeep Compass.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a break-in at Legend City on Hamlyn Road, only to find the culprits gone, and the front window smashed, and most of the contents of the business gone.

After reviewing security footage, police determined the male and female suspects went off in a black Jeep Compass, recently stolen from a dealership in St. John’s.

The Jeep was later found by police around noon on Thursday, burned near Grove’s Road.

Before the Jeep was burned, the pair got into a grey, four-door Pontiac G6.

It’s believed the same pair of robbers are also responsible for a separate break-in at Arthur James, located inside Coleman’s Grocery on Newfoundland Drive. In that incident, the pair backed their Jeep near a window, smashjing it out, and making off with a “high value” of sportswear.

Anyone with information about the break-ins, the identities of the man or woman, or about the grey Pontiac G6, is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
