Passed peace­fully away in the pres­ence of her lov­ing fam­ily, Phyl­lis Janes. Pre­de­ceased by her hus­band and soul­mate Jack (2007); her par­ents Robert & Margaret (White) Whit­ten; sis­ter Mil­dred Thorne (and hus­band Ed and niece Lynn); broth­ers Clyde; Jack (and wife Edith); and Gor­don (and wife Dorothy). She will be for­ever loved and re­mem­bered by her daugh­ter Can­dace (Moak­ler); her hus­band Sean and grand­daugh­ter Lau­ren, the light of her life. Also leav­ing to mourn her brother Mil­ton and wife Jean; sis­ter-in-law Agnes; and a large cir­cle of spe­cial nieces, neph­ews and friends. Phyl­lis lived a long happy life sur­rounded by love, joy, fam­ily and friends. She was a con­sum­mate kind and car­ing woman who was al­ways con­cerned about the well-be­ing of those clos­est to her. She was an avid gar­dener with an amaz­ing green thumb; a first-class knit­ter; a leg­endary Christ­mas cake maker; a deeply spir­i­tual per­son; she al­ways had a warm wel­com­ing smile; she thor­oughly en­joyed fun and laugh­ter and get-to­geth­ers and ev­ery­one was wel­come in her home! She loved deeply with a true and pure heart. Rest­ing at Car­nell’s Fu­neral Home, 329 Fresh­wa­ter Road on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 8 and Sun­day, De­cem­ber 9 from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m. Fu­neral ser­vice on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ni­cholas Church, Tor­bay.
