It is with sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Hazel Trask (nee: Martin) while sur­rounded by her lov­ing and devoted fam­ily in the pri­vacy of her res­i­dence on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 5, 2018. Born in Bun­yan’s Cove on Thurs­day, March 10, 1932, she was the daugh­ter of the late Reuban and An­nie (nee: Burt). Leav­ing with fond and pre­cious me­mories to cher­ish for a life time are her chil­dren Barry (Deb­bie), Carl, Donna (Cyril Rus­sell); grand­chil­dren David, Robert (Re­becca), Melissa, Lukas, Bri­anna, Giselle; great-grand­chil­dren Jack and Mary; sib­lings Brenda (Don), Genevieve, Elsie, Neta, sis­ter-in­law Rose, as well as her pre­cious puppy Sochi and a large cir­cle of ex­tended fam­ily and those who held the priv­i­lege of ac­knowl­edg­ing Hazel as friend. In­clud­ing her late par­ents, she was pre­de­ceased by hus­band Wil­mour, son-in-law Billy Stans­bury, sib­lings and in laws Ralph, Dotchen, Eneth (Bill), Ray, Art. Fam­ily will be ac­cept­ing vis­i­tors from Car­nell’s Fu­neral Home (329 Fresh­wa­ter Road, St. John’s) on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 9, 2018 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A ser­vice of thanks­giv­ing will take place on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 10, 2018 at 2 PM, from Car­nell Me­mo­rial Chapel, fol­lowed by burial in Mount Pleas­ant Ceme­tery. Flow­ers or me­mo­rial do­na­tions gra­ciously ac­cepted in Hazel’s mem­ory by the Cana­dian Cancer So­ci­ety or the lo­cal S.P.CA.
