WHITE John James

-

It is with profound sadness that the family of John James White mourn his passing on January 10, 2019 at 72 years of age. Predeceased by his mother and father, Sara and David White, grandmother Catherine Moss and uncle Jack Moss. He will be lovingly remembered by his dear friend and wife of 46 years, Sylvia (Fost) and their cherished children Chris (Tanya) and Allison (Miles), and many dear friends and family. He was a dedicated public servant in the Healthcare system for over 40 years; in Bonavista, he oversaw the expansion of Golden Heights manor among many other milestones. After retiring in 2003, he sat on the board of the College of Physicians and Surgeons for several years. He was passionate and cared deeply about his work and colleagues, making many dear friends along the way. Saying John loved his family was an understatement, putting them above all else. What he loved most was to spend time with his wife and children, on fishing trips and vacations, or a simple family barbecue. John was so incredibly generous, and had a foolish and wonderful sense of humour, often cracking jokes, always with a spark in his eye. In retirement, he loved to take photos and likened himself a budding photographer. His wisdom, courage and love will be forever missed, always cherished and never forgotten. Cremation has taken place; no service at John’s request. But please come and share loving memories at Moore’s Funeral Home, Clarke’s Beach on Sunday, January 13th, 1-3 pm or 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the SPCA.
