As­sault charge laid after po­lice called to St. John’s east end home

St. John’s, N.L. — The Royal New­found­land Con­stab­u­lary re­sponded to a re­port of a dis­tur­bance at a res­i­dence in the east end of St. John’s Satur­day night around 10 o’clock. An in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the of­fi­cers re­sulted in a 39-year-old man be­ing charged with one count of as­sault caus­ing bod­ily harm. He was held at the lockup for a court ap­pear­ance in the morn­ing.
