More French language child care spaces needed
Consultation will be held to discuss new spaces for St. John’s and the surrounding area
A pair of local organizations will host a meeting on Thursday night to discuss child care options.
Les p’tits cerfs-volants child care centre and the Federation des parents francophones de Terre-neuve et du Labrador are seeking to create new francophone child care spaces for St. John’s and the surrounding area.
The project is funded by the Department of Early Childhood Development through the Child Care Capacity Program.
According to Les p’tits cerfsvolants child care centre, there are 45 families on the waiting list for the only active francophone centre in the metropolitan region.
GR Conseils is conducting a survey to look at the needs of those on the waiting list. These results will be presented at the consultation.
This consultation will be held at the Centre scolaire et communautaire des Grands-vents on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at 65 Ridge Rd. in St. John’s.
