It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Nina Choquette, a loving mother, wife, grandmothe­r, sister, aunt and devoted friend to all whose lives she touched, on February 1st, 2020, age 78 years. Nina Choquette (Brown Murphy) was originally from Tacks Beach, Placentia Bay, daughter of Sam Brown and Maud Warren. Nina is predecease­d by her brother Gordon Brown; sisterin-law Mary Brown; daughter-inlaw Valerie Martin; and mother-inlaw, Agnes Murphy. Nina is survived by her husband, Steve (Yves) Choquette - her travelling partner, her walking buddy, and her best friend. They shared a beautiful 34 years of marriage together. Leaving to mourn her children: Lynn Ann Hollett (Tom), Tony Murphy, Gail Murphy Taylor (Roxanne Snow), Wendy Howlett (Kevin), Jackie Stanley (Robert). Nina also leaves to mourn her grandchild­ren: Joshua (Kirsten), Wendy Kane, Tara (Chad), Lindsay (Shane), Gillian (Adam), Lee (Maude), Jeffrey (Allison), Samantha (Ryan), Matthew (Madison) and Jesse; great-grandchild­ren: Hailey, Ember, Emma, Chloe, Adelyn, and Logan; her brother Fred Brown (Corner Brook); her sister Mary Butler George (British Columbia); special family friend Ronnie Bidgood; step-sons: Danny and Michael; step-daughter, Della; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who loved her dearly and will hold her precious in their memory. If you knew her well, you’d know Nina loved to sing, dance and she truly adored Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed spending time playing cards with her buddies over the years, gardening, and sewing. A special thank you to the staff at Pleasant View Towers, especially from 2SE who cared for her throughout the last six years. Visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 10am-2pm. Funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Funeral Chapel, on Wednesday, February 5, at 2:30pm with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honour. As expression­s of sympathy, donations in Nina’s memory may be made to the Community Food Sharing Associatio­n.
