FITZGERALD Elaine Ann

December 5, 1949 – January 31, 2020

Passed peacefully away in the arms of her husband and daughter Tracy by her side, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Pre-deceased by Mother and Father, John & Mary Kennedy. Sister, Elizabeth. Mother and Father-in-law Dave and Julia Fitzgerald. Sisters-in-law, Lillian Fitzgerald, Mary Stoyles, Margaret Fahey. Brothers-in-law, David Fitzgerald, Tom Fitzgerald, George Cole. Left with fond and loving memories, Ed, husband of 48 years. Daughters, Tracy and Kerry (Jeff) and darling grandson Nicholas. Siblings, Patricia (Bren) Slaney, Jim (Joy) Kennedy, John (Jennifer) Kennedy, Kathleen O’brien (Jon), Des (Linda) Kennedy, Margie (Sean) March. In-laws; Barry Hulan, Elsie (Frank) Layte, Rita Cole, Kevin (Carol) Fitzgerald, Edna (Glen) Spencer. Judy Fitzgerald, Fay Fitzgerald. Elaine also leaves to mourn Aunt Margie Manning, a large number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and so many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Her card club buddies and all her friends at the 50+ club. A very special thank you to Sheryl Somerton, B.N. who was her guardian angel through this battle and helped ensure she could stay at home as she wanted. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island Tuesday, February, 4, 2020 from 11am-9pm. Inurnment to take place at a later date. Mass to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at St. Michael’s Church, Bell Island. 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Reception to follow at St. Michael’s Parish Hall, Bell Island. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations to the Newfoundland Cancer Society.
