June 16, 1933 – February 1, 2020 Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Homes surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 1st, 2020. Predeceased by her parents, George and Eliza Mae; husband Orlando; son Len; sonin-law, John Martin; brother, Ralph; and sisters: Helen and Mary. Leaving with fond and cherished memories, daughter Emily Martin; son, Glen (Chrissy); daughter-in-law, Shannon; and special grandson, John Martin; as well as extended family and a large circle of friends. Phyllis was a creative woman who was always so generous. She touched so many lives with random acts of kindness and simple gestures in her 86 years of life. Whether it be her many knitted, sewn, embroidered or crocheted items, or just her presence and a chat, she always brought a smile to people’s faces and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Special heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Luke’s Homes. Although Phyllis’ stay was short, you made it feel like home for both her and her whole family - and for that, we will be forever grateful. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 168 Macdonald Drive, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, and in keeping with Phyllis’ acts of kindness, donations may be made the Worldwide Work at www.donate.jw.org.
