Also left to remember, Sherry Shaddock and family (Hammonds Plains, NS) as well as many special nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends over many years. A special thank you to the staff of Tiffany Village who took good care of John in the last couple of years, and especially to niece Cathy Dornan (Robert) who has been incredible in helping to care for him and for always being there when needed. John was a good man, very kind and generous to people he encountered. A hard worker with Irving Oil for over 30 years, and for many years was a member of the Officers Mess and RCAF Club where he spent many a weekend socializing. He had lots of stories from backin-the-day, that never seemed to get old and he’d never tire of telling, when given the chance. An avid Bluejays fan, and Expos fan before that, John often travelled many summers to see live games in either city. This spring without baseball on TV was certainly tough for him to accept. In keeping with John’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be planned in St. John’s at a date TBD. Donations in John’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
