Aged 94, (or as he would say "in his 95th year") passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Center on May 23, 2021. Son of the late John and Mary Ellen Flynn, predecease­d by his wife Mary Theresa (Jackman) Flynn, brothers Joseph, Thomas, William, John (Jack), James, Kevin and sisters Mary, Helen, and Margaret. Leaving to mourn his sad loss, are his sons; Gerard (Maura), Robert and David (Matthew) and daughter Jane Marie Obst (the late Dwight); six grandchild­ren; Matthew (Christina), Nicholas, Ellen (Ryan), Andrew, Katherine, Daniel; two great grandchild­ren Colt and Cooper. Also, to mourn, Dave and Rosemary Jackman, Essie Flynn (late James), Mary (Gio) Jackman (late Brian), Connie Jackman, Phyllis Jackman (late Arthur), Clary Horton (late Betty), Patsy Jackman (late Tommy) and many nieces and nephews He spent the last week playing 120's with his friends and family. He also managed a few wonderful afternoons soaking up the sun on the deck and watching sunsets over the ocean in Holyrood. This was followed by evenings of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, his beloved Boston Bruins and the Blue Jays. Special mention to Karen and George Furey, Noel and Marilyn Flynn, and Helen Marie Roche and Barb O'dea who were always checking in to make sure all was well. Nick enjoyed 120’s and bridge, especially the Sunday night card games with Winnie and Eileen Hawco, Marg O'keefe, Carm and Stephen Handrigan, Joan and Carl Bill, Fanny Brennan, Mary Brown, Joan Hann, Mel Wadden, Laura and Roy Aitken. He wintered in St Pete's Beach, explored Australia, sailed the Mediterran­ean and Caribbean. Visited the Vatican in Rome. Took a submarine ride in Pearl Harbor, a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon and sipped wine in the Napa Valley. A special note of mention to the dedicated and compassion­ate Emergency room staff of the Health Science Centre for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Associatio­n or a charity of your choice. A Mass of Christian burial and a celebratio­n of life will be held when Covid19 restrictio­ns allow us to celebrate Nick’s wonderful life.
