One new case reported in province Thursday
Another day, another single case of COVID-19 reported in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Following a single case of COVID-19 reported Wednesday, the lone case reported in the daily COVID-19 update on Thursday is a woman between 20-39 years old in the Central Health region.
The case is a close contact of a previously reported case in the area and is not connected to the cluster in the Lewisporte area.
Contact tracing by Public Health is underway and anyone considered a close contact has been advised to quarantine.
All four recoveries reported Thursday are in the Western Health region, making a total of 1,340 recoveries.
As of Thursday, there were 32 active cases of COVID-19 in the province: four in the Eastern Health region; 10 in Central Health; 17 in Western Health; and one in Labradorgrenfell Health.
Two people are in the hospital with COVID-19 after being admitted since Wednesday.
The source of infection of the clusters in central (Lewisporte area) and western (Stephenville-port au Port area) Newfoundland are still under investigation.
A case reported Wednesday, June 9 in the Central Health region and a case reported Wednesday, June 9 in the Western Health region also remain under investigation.
