EDGECOMBE, Donald Edward

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Donald Edward Edgecombe, age 73, on Sunday, June 13, 2021 in Sheffield Lake, NL after a battle with cancer. Don was predeceased by his parents Hazel and Ted Edgecombe of St. John’s, NL and sister Karen Argent and her 2 children, Christine and David. Don leaves to mourn daughters Jennifer Michels of Ottawa, ON and Allison Edgecombe of Nova Scotia plus one grandson Evan of Ottawa, ON; sister - Diana Brewster, her 2 children Amanda and Leslie and a special niece Kimberley, daughter of Karen. He also leaves to mourn his common law wife, Rita Hatcher; her son, Craig Hatcher (Deanna) and her daughter, Dana Goodfellow (John); her grandchildren Claire and Aaron Hatcher, Reid and Harris Goodfellow; her 11 sisters and brothers – Madeline (deceased), Anne White, Geneieve Perrier, Olive White, Beatrice Lake, Patrick Jones (deceased), Cliff Jones (deceased), Kevin Jones (deceased), Ward Jones, Junior Jones and Tom Jones ; special boating friends Joan Lake and Don Gulliver, Sheila and Tom Jones and a large circle of other friends. Don was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating and the cabin life. He spent many hours on his ATV, boat and snowmobile. He was a quiet, private person but enjoyed a good laugh with his friends and family. He was a kind, generous soul who was loved by everyone. As per Don’s request cremation has taken place and his ashes will be dispersed at a later date in Pope’s Harbour, NL according to his wishes.
