Passed away in her 87th year surrounded by love on June 15, 2021 at 6:15p.m. Predecease­d byher loving husband Greg in 2005; baby Michael in 1970; her dad Herbert and mom Sarah; sister Gladys Dicks (Charlie); brother Charlie Whiffen all off Rushoon, NL; son-in-law Roger Butt. Leaving to celebrate her wonderful life daughters Marilyn (Mark Staple), Patricia Butt (Rogerdecea­sed) whom she resided with for 34 years, Isabel (Gary Stone); sons Greg, Garrett (Kerry Pryma), Paul, Francis (Shirley Makinaw); sisters Ellen Theresa Cheeseman (Leonard-deceased), Sadie Skiba (Walterdece­ased), Ann Murphy (Frank-deceased), Herbert Whiffen (Sheila Butler), Mary Burghardt (Jack-deceased), Dorothy Stewart (George), Greg Whiffen (Melvina); grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren Ashley (Justin Lockyer, Dean, Sam), Kelly (Jason Badcock, Jacob), Melissa Butt (Rick Taylor, Jorjamom’s little girl), Katie Butt (Ryan Dymond), Jacqueline Stone (Adam Langmead, Spencer, Hudson), Michael Stone, Greg Hynes Jr., Matthew Hynes (Shawna, Tyler, Cameron), Larissa Hynes (Reece Schneider), Jeremy Hynes (Amanda Scoular), Stephanie Walsh (Aaron Noseworthy), Nicole Walsh (Chad Rice, Gary, Ruby), Rebecca Lethbridge (Stephen), Tanner Kodie, Francis, Serenity, Liam, Bernice, Conner Hynes. Special thank you to the staff of Meadow Creek and St. Pat’s Mercy Home for their care and comfort of Mom and to Barrett’s Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion. Mom loved her family and her life at Placentia Junction and Mount Pearl. She started her life as a teacher and met the love of her life Dad and lived at Placentia Junction. She was a smart and savvy business woman running Marty’s and Greg’s Diner restaurant. She will be remembered as a sister who took in and looked after everyone. She dearly loved her life at the cabin and you are now free to ride your trike in heaven without a helmet. We love you Mom, you will never be forgotten but you will always be missed by all of those who loved you and your zest for life. Oh and that laugh will always be with us. Have a drink with Dad and have a game of 120’s with your friends in heaven. They know you cheat! We love you Mom! Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonweal­th Avenue, Mount Pearl on Monday from 10a.m – 2p.m. Memorial service to be held at Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted.
