RYAN, Margaret Mary

-

It is with gratitude for a life filled with love, family, friendships and community that John, her husband of 57 years, and her children Michelle (Frank), Colleen (Paul), David (Nici) and Darrin (Wendy) will remember Margaret Ryan. Loving grandmother to Adam, Andrew, Ashleigh, Kyle and Jonathan. Youngest sister to Christina and Catherine. Margaret’s beloved, John, has been blessed with 57 years of knowing the love of a good woman. John was by Margaret’s side all throughout her illness. John’s devotion to Margaret was evident in all the things he did to help care for her at home. Our hearts are heavy with the loss, yet our memories are many and enduring. Margaret’s smile, her laugh, her love of education, reading, gardening, Tim’s French vanilla, and travel, these sustain us. Family, sharing time and life together, these were so very important to her. She taught us how to love each other, and create family and community. There were too many Sunday dinners to count! Margaret’s deep faith was her solid foundation. She faced her illness with courage, did not welcome the loss of independence her illness demanded, though accepted it with incredible patience and graciousness. Except for these last few weeks, with the loving care of her family and home care workers she was in her home. This made her very happy. We thank Wanda, Kathy, and Tose for helping make this possible. Thank you to the team on the Stella Burry unit at Agnes Pratt for the care you provided to Margaret. Thank you to Paulette, Janet and Jill from Eastern Health for your many visits and phone calls.

A special thank you to Dr. Julia Trahey and Dr. Susanne Price for your care and compassion. Our family has been comforted by the support of many friends and community members. We thank you all for your kindnesses. Visitation to take place from Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay, on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 2 pm – 5 pm & 7 pm – 9 pm. Funeral Service to take place from Caul’s Chapel, Torbay on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10am and can be viewed live from cauls.ca. Interment to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Outer Cove, NL.
