Passed peacefully away in St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Sunday

June 26 at the age of 74, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her best friend and husband,

Eric; parents, John and Lena Sullivan; sister, Lorraine Downey; and special friends, Yvonne Kelly, Andy Lynch and Paul Reddy. Left to cherish her forever are her children, Susan Elliott, Kirk (Joan) Elliott, Karen (Scott)

Knight, Darlene (Michael) Gibbons. Her greatest joys were her seven grandchildren, Eric, Evan and Andy Knight, Eric-william and Erin Elliott, Kate and Claire Gibbons. Mom will also be greatly missed by her siblings, Maureen (Hughie Sullivan), Carol (Ron Taylor), Sharon (Terry Cullen), Bonnie (Steve Murphy - deceased), Heather (Chris Parrell), Patricia (Richard Cullen- deceased), and Johnny (Diane) Sullivan.

Also left to fondly remember her gentle and caring ways are many nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends, especially Mary Mills, Marion Hamelin, Monica Ryan and Dave Downey. Mom was born on

Sept 30, 1947 in St. John’s to John and Lena Sullivan. She was part of a large family that grew up on Power Street where she was the second of nine children who became

her closest friends. Mom lived her life surrounded by the love and values that she passed on to her own children. Together with husband Eric Elliott (deceased 1999), they built a wonderful life on Waterford Heights in St. John’s for over 30 years. Mom will be forever remembered as the most gentle, devoted mother, sister, aunt and grandmother with an unlimited capacity for love. She enjoyed every moment she spent with her family, including doggy grandchildren, Toby and Finn. Mom was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and she enjoyed the simple pleasures that life gave. A can of Pepsi with a chocolate bar was never far from sight. Everyone's biggest supporter, mom was the first to be there in time of need. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and all their athletic and academic achievements. Her hourly check ins and phone calls to see how everyone was doing were a daily reminder of how much she cared. Mom’s family was her world, and nothing else mattered as long as

we were ok. We will miss you forever mom. We would like

to sincerely thank our family friend and family doctor Dr. Colleen Kirby, the compassionate nurses working at St. Clares especially, Deanne Peddle and nurse practitioner Jennifer Hinks who helped Mom and our family so much on Friday. Arrangements entrusted with Caul’s Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 28, and Wednesday, June 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a Funeral

Mass held on Thursday, June 30, at St. Patrick’s Church at 2 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Mom’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Alzheimer's Society.
