1. What is your full name?
Kelly Mcmichael.
2. Where were you born?
I was born in Toronto.
3. Where do you live today?
I live in St. John’s.
4. Who do you follow on social media?
I’ve been following some of the other shortlisted people. A lot of musicians. I follow a lot of National Geographic animal photographers and underwater stuff. I also like to follow some like arty, visual arts stuff, some comedians.
5 . What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’m pretty good at pool.
I like playing pool. I like billiards. I used to do gymnastics and diving — springboard diving.
6 . What’s been your favourite year and why?
Let’s say 2013 because it was the year that I moved to St. John’s.
7 . What is the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
How about leaving my cat Jonesy behind when I go on tour.
8 . Can you describe one experience that changed your life?
I guess the first time I sang in front of anybody . ... I think the first time I performed, I sang and played piano in front of a crowd in high school. I was pleased to find out that it went well and that I could keep doing that. (Laughs.)
9 . What is your greatest indulgence?
Smoking some grass and drinking a beer, floating on a body of water.
10. What is your favourite movie or book?
I’m gonna have to go with “Thelma and Louise.”
11. What do you like to listen to?
I’ll go with Cate Le Bon. I just bought her new record (“Pompeii”). Her album’s wicked.
12 . How do you like to relax?
Let’s say swimming. I’m really, really hoping to do that later today.
13 . What are you reading or watching right now?
I did really enjoy (Netflix dramatic miniseries) “Inventing Anna,” which I just finished.
14 . What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is not being able to do stuff. Like move or play music. Losing mobility and not being able to play music.
15 . How would you describe your personal fashion sense?
It’s a little bit of like sometimes dressing like a little kid meets kinda like retro rock and roll, I guess. (Laughs.)
16 . What is your most treasured possession?
I think it would be my guitar. It’s a used Gibson SG from O’brien’s (Music on Water Street in St. John’s).
17 . What physical or personality trait are you most grateful to a parent for?
Being resourceful and good at problem-solving. That’s from my mom. And then wanting to prioritize having a good time. Taking it easy and having a good time. That’s from my dad.
18 . What would you say is your best quality, and what would you say is your worst quality?
Being willing to see somebody else’s perspective. Maybe perhaps being empathetic . ... My worst quality is getting into sort of like a downer, sort of pessimistic kind of mood.

Honestly, Woody Point.
20 . Which three people would join you for your dream dinner party?
Wow. Dream dinner party. Three people? (Mexican painter) Frida Kahlo. Who else would be a laugh? Maybe (American singer/ rapper) Lizzo. (American politician and activist) Alexandria Ocasio-cortez.
