Silver Springs member celebrates seventh career ace

-

John Black must have incredible aim. Black recently carded his seventh career ace, burying a 137-yard beauty — a superb six-iron — on No. 13 at his home club of Silver Springs – Hey John, any tips for the rest of us?!?

The signature third hole at D’arcy Ranch is a dandy downhiller, so Theresa Brown must have been treated to a splendid view of this special shot. Brown walloped a ninewood and was right on target from 114 yards back.

Also at D’arcy Ranch, Cathy Robertson skipped the putting portion on the sixth, finishing her business with one thump of a three-wood from 152 yards out, while Brian Holland drained a 154-yard dart — a sweet seven-iron — on No. 12.

Yuin Kim cruised through No. 15 at Hamptons thanks to a nifty nine-iron that covered 144 yards.

Anil Sahel made short work of the sixth on the scorecard at Maple Ridge, smoothing a seven-iron from about 140 yards away. Sahel, 70, now has a pair of aces to his credit.

Tom Wilson was the toast of the clubhouse at Lakeside after sinking a hole-in-one during senior club championships. Wilson nailed a nineiron on No. 11 and then made the 130-yard commute to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup. The best part is, Tom had just been teasing one of his pals and playing partners after his own tee-shot, telling him he might need to go mark his ball because it was blocking the route to an ace. He rolled it right past instead.

Also at Lakeside, Maj Kaddoura was perfect with a pitching wedge on the sixth, which measures 144 yards.

Laurie Gauthier had reason to hoot and holler after a precise pitching wedge on the 120-yard fourth hole at Carnmoney, while Ron Tillapaugh aced No. 17 at the private facility thanks to a super seveniron from 142 yards away.
