My favourite year so far in my life has to be 2010. The birth of my son.

7 . Can you describe one experience that changed your life?

It also has to be that one ... because when she passed away, I realized that life isn’t to be taken for granted. It was one of the moments that pointed me in the direction of chasing my dreams, which ultimately landed me on “Big Brother.” Without that, I wouldn’t have chased my dreams as hard as I did, and I don’t think I would be talking to you right now. It definitely changed my life, after I realized that life isn’t to be taken for granted and every day needs to be taken advantage of — because it’s a gift.

I’m gonna have to go with basketball. It’s been definitely my outlet since I’ve been a small boy, something I can always turn to. Just a hoop and a ball, and it’s very simple, but yet very therapeutic. It’s definitely one of my favourite things to do any day of the week, any time of the day.

9 . What is your favourite movie or book?

It would have to be the Marvel series. “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.” The movies are great. The theatrics are great. I can watch it with my son. He enjoys it. It’s something that we both enjoy sitting home and watching over and over again. My favourite book

12 . What are you reading or watching right now?

I’m watching “Big Brother Canada” season 11 for sure [laughs]. It’s a bit of PTSD there, but I’m definitely trying to rewatch that. Right now, I’m (watching) NBA playoffs. I’m very invested in that and I look forward to each and every game. I mean, you’ve got two good series.

13 . What is your greatest fear?

My greatest fear would be definitely missing out on life. It goes back to really taking each day gratefully. I’m just grateful for life. I really live for the moment. It has been, since my mom passed away, that each and every day, I’m really looking to take advantage of doing what I feel is right for me and my family. My greatest fear is missed opportunities and this time, because our time is limited and I want to take full advantage of the time I have.

17 . Which physical or personality trait are you most grateful to a parent for?

My genuineness. I feel like I genuinely care for people. I really want to see everybody succeed as best as they can ... Even in the game, I couldn’t change the fact that I wanted to see everyone succeed and I wanted to genuinely help everybody when they’re in a time of need. If I had to pick one thing I like about myself, it’s the fact that I care ... Definitely something my parents instilled in me. My mother and father definitely made sure that was who I was and they were such good people. I think that it reflected on me and is something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

18 . What would you say is your best quality, and what would you say is your worst quality?

My best quality is the fact that I can bring positive energy. I can really lighten up the room ... My worst quality would be ... sometimes I’m forgetful. If I lay down the remote, I might be looking for it 10 seconds down the road or have it in my hand [laughs].

It has to be Newfoundland. I’ve been to a lot of places in my life. I’ve travelled often and seen a far bit of the world. Not as much as I want. I will travel more. But if I had to put my favourite place as the place that I always go back to, that’s Newfoundland. I’ve said it on the show ... that there’s no place like home. I’m not living in Newfoundland — it lives in me. No matter where I am in the world, I’m a proud Newfoundlander. I’ll wear that flag for the rest of my days ... There’s no place like it.

20 . Which three people would join you for your dream dinner party?

I’m gonna have to go with my guy Hope (Agbolosoo, from “Big Brother Canada”), Roberto (Lopez, also from “Big Brother Canada”) and my wife (Stephanie) ... It was a game of I win, but I walked out of that house with relationships that’ll live with me for the rest of my life. Hope is my brother. So is Roberto. Those guys mean so much to me. Obviously, my wife is my wife. She’s my favourite person in the world. She’s my strength when I feel weak.
