ROSADO (Belbin), Shirley Joyce
December 8, 1945-May 11, 2023. It is with great sorrow that we mourn the sudden, unexpected loss of our dear mother, Shirley Joyce (Belbin) Rosado supported by our loving father, Joaquim Antonio Valente Rosado at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s N.L. We are incredibly thankful for the support of Don and Andrew Green of Green’s Funeral Home in Winterton, and Major Laura Jenkins of the Lower Trinity Salvation Army Corps in Winterton/hants Harbour. We are forever grateful to our aunt Joan of New Chelsea for her unwavering kindness and years of friendship that our mother dearly treasured. Our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who have given their support and understanding in so many ways. Our mother’s service was held on May 15th and attended by close family and friends as per her wishes She was laid to rest at the Salvation Army Cemetery in New Chelsea. We appreciate and welcome messages of condolences online within the Green’s Memorial website. Our mother is predeceased by her precious parents, Vida (Single) and Sidney Belbin of New Chelsea, Trinity Bay; and beloved sisters, Ivy (Art) Antle, Rita (Jim) Doherty; and treasured brother, Irvin Belbin. Cherishing her memory are her brother, Gerald Belbin of St. John’s; as well as sister, Una (Mike) Miller of Windsor, Ontario. Sharing her memory are nieces and nephews here in Newfoundland as well as in Saskatchewan and Ontario. Grandchildren, Joseph and Gillian Rosado Sparrow; Allyssa, Danielle and Nicolas Rosado-hann of Parksville, Vancouver Island B.C. will always remember their Nanny’s joyous laughter and unwavering love, with supportive son-in-law, Robert Sparrow. Our mother always called her grandchildren “Nanny’s treasures”. Extended Portuguese family and friends in Lisbon, Cascais and Parede are grieving the loss and send their heartfelt condolences to Canadian family and cherished Newfoundland loved ones. As her daughters we temper our loss with gratitude for the many adventures, travels and the unconditional love our mother provided. As a therapist supporting adults with disabilities, our mother taught us well to always serve those in need, and in this way our cups forever overflow.
In Loving Memory Paula and Lisa Rosado of Vancouver Island B.C.
