BABSTOCK, Roy Douglas ‘‘Doug’’

October 24, 1946- February 25, 2024. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Doug, on February 25, 2024 at the age of 77. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur (1995) and Margaret (2009) Babstock. Leaving to mourn his wife of 15 years, Peggy Cullimore (nee Ridgeley); his children, Deanne Babstock-moret (Bob Moret), Mount Pearl, Paul Babstock (Diana Constanzino), Port Moody, BC, Craig Babstock (Kelly Tynan), Moncton, NB, Zack Cullimore (Katherine Cullimore), Mount Pearl; three wonderful grandsons whom he adored, Mark and Kyle Moret and Rowan Babstock; sister, Gail Babstock; brothers, Reginald (Doris-deceased) and Gary (Kathy Goodsell); sisters-in-law, Barbara Lawlor (Joe Mcissac), Cathy Rice and Mary Dowell; his best friend, Paul Duke (Wanda Penney); as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He will be missed by his golfing buddies and his numerous friends at the Mount Pearl Seniors Independence Group (especially his card ladies). For those who knew Doug, you would know that he was the life of the party and there wasn’t a beer or dance floor he didn’t like. As per Doug’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Saturday, March 2nd from 4p.m.-9p.m. and on Sunday, March 3rd from 11a.m.-4p.m. and 6p.m.-9p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 4th at 10a.m. from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel. Private inurnment to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made in Doug’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or Diabetes Canada.
