September 19, 1957 – February 25, 2024. With great sadness and broken hearts, we announce the sudden death of our beloved brother and friend, David Bernard Perry, who passed away peacefully in his sleep. David was the heart of our family, always full of life and fun, with boundless kindness and compassion for all. David began his retirement six years ago, following a wonderful career in the offshore oil industry as Operations Manager for East Coast Catering for several years, a company he was proud to work for and a position that he enjoyed immensely. He loved this time there, and especially his working relationsh­ips with owner Pat O’callaghan, and his colleagues and friends. In recent years, David cared daily for his ill wife Beverley, and tragically lost her one year ago. Predecease­d by wife, Beverley Anne Johnson, parents, David and Mary Perry, grandparen­ts, John and Susannah Tilley and David and Christina Perry, parents-inlaw, James and Anne Johnson; uncle, Edward Tilley (who he cared for), aunt, Anne and uncle, Steve Maher, aunt, Marie Kendrick; nephews, David and Jay, and brother-in-law, Donald Lundrigan, and beloved dogs, Scottie and Pepper. Leaving to mourn brothers and sisters, Ian (Suzanne), Christina, Brian, Susan (Drexel), and Sheena (Philip), and their families, especially nephews, Scott (Hannah) and John (Nicole) Perry; uncle, Norman (Betty) Perry, Scotland, uncle ,Frank Kendrick and family, USA; cousins, Annie Casey and family, the Tilley family, the Ogilvie family (Ann Claire, Lisa, Scott), Ann Marie and Charles Chiasson and family, Carol Ann and Dave Lincoln and family, USA, and Beverley’s family, including stepchildr­en, Shelby and Christian, lifelong best friend, Nick Holden, and many dear friends who brought fun and joy to his life over the years, Blaketown neighbours and friends, Paul and Judy Heffernan, and his beautiful adored loyal dog, Harley, who was by his side when he passed away, and stayed with him. Visitation to take place at Cauls Funeral Home, Thursday, February 29th from 2 – 9 p.m., and funeral mass at St. John the Baptist Basilica, Military Road, St. John’s, Friday, March 1, at 11 a.m. Flowers are gratefully accepted in David’s memory or a donation to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) would be kindly appreciate­d.
