Passed peacefully on March 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, Violet Marion Tulk (Piercey). Predecease­d by her parents Charles and Lizzie Piercey, her sister Betty Hammond as well as her brother Ron Piercey. Celebratin­g her life, beloved husband of 56 years Fred Tulk, her brother-in law Dave Tulk (Carol), her sisterin law Velma Piercey, her nieces Rhonda Mckinnon (Ian Mckinnon), Kimberley Hammond (Todd Stanley), nephews Glenn Piercey (Sue Ziegler), Matthew Tulk (Jennifer Stanley), and Martin Tulk. Her grandniece­s and nephews Erin, Colin, Ben, Noah, Aaron, Kyla and Taylor. Violet will also be missed by a wide circle of other family and lifelong friends. As a much-loved teacher she touched the lives of many young students. She was a kind, loving, compassion­ate individual who always had words of encouragem­ent for anyone she encountere­d. Violet was a dedicated church volunteer who served in many roles which included church warden, president of the ACW, eucharisti­c assistant and lecturer of biblical studies. She was an animal lover and in summertime could often be found walking the beaches of Cape Freels or the trails of Newtown. Her sense of humor and infectious laugh will always be remembered. We gratefully acknowledg­e the nurses and staff of 4 South B HSC, Dr. Dayna Butler, and Archdeacon Edward Keeping. Visitation took place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Thursday, March 14th from 2-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Friday, March 15th at 2 PM (see Barrett’s website for live stream). Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
