Passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Medford, Massachuse­tts, she attended school in Dorchester, Mass. and later Presentati­on Convent in St. John’s, NL. She lived in Gander for 35 years where she raised her four children before returning to St. John’s. Predecease­d by her parents, George Perry and Annie Doheney; and her brothers, Melvin Perry and Thomas Weldon Perry. Leaving to remember her are her children, Weldon, Ann, Fons and Susan; her grandchild­ren, Laura, Andrea, Ryan, Erin, Michael, Jenny, David, Sarah and Julia; eight great-grandchild­ren; and sisters-in-law, Sister Loretta Chafe and Daphne Chafe. Many thanks to her wonderful, supportive neighbours and friends, especially Frank Langmeade, Gary Murrin, Robyn Squires, John Roche, Rosie Smith and Mae Arenas. A very special “thank you” to Randy Battcock and Sally Sanchez who provided Betty with amazing support and care. Thanks to their kindness, Betty was able to fulfill her wish to spend her final days in her home. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road on Friday, March 22nd from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at The Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Saturday, March 23rd at 11 a.m with a reception to follow.
