Grace left this earth, while peacefully, in her home on March 25, 2024. Grace was born in Bonavista, NL. She was predecease­d by her parents, Clarence Russell (2000) and Evelyn Grace (Abbott) Russell (2010); her wonderful sister, Thelma Crockett (2022); her beautiful niece, Elizabeth Williams (Crockett) (2023); her beloved husband, Bill Ryan (2000); her children’s dad, Victor Snow (1990); her infant son (1958); son-in-law, Chris Fisher (2015) and cherished son, David Snow (2017). Grace leaves behind, enveloped in her love, her daughters, Linda Snow Fisher (John) and Catherine Snow Hesson (Sterling); her grandchild­ren, Louis O’keefe, Caitlyn (Alon) and Christa Fisher, Alan, Angela (Patrick) and Alex Snow, Victoria and Margaret Hesson and great-grandchild­ren, Grayson, Asher and Nora. Grace leaves behind her brother-in-law, Gene Crockett; her nephews, Stephen, Donnie (Becky); niece, Carolyn (Mike); nephew-in-law, Tom and their families (in Maine). Grace also leaves the extended Ryan family, dear friends, Doreen Durdle and Robert Stone and many cousins and friends from St. John’s, Bonavista, Florida and parts in between. Grace graduated from the Anglican School in Bonavista, she subsequent­ly moved to St. John’s where she received a business diploma from St. Patrick’s Convent. She worked with the Provencal Government until her marriage. After her children were grown, she attended MUN where she studied Business Administra­tion and Public Administra­tion following which she was employed with the Canadian Coast Guard and then, as a program officer with Transport Canada’s Marine Subsidy program. Grace worked there until she retired in 1995. Grace enjoyed her family and her pets. She loved walking, swimming, writing listening to music and singing. Grace played the piano by ear and was an avid reader. Many thanks to Dr. Fardy, the palliative and community healthcare teams, especially Valerie RN; caregivers, Shelly, Omabolla and Noeleen. Special thanks also to Bob for keeping Grace smiling. Grace and her family appreciate­d your friendship and kindness to her for the past few years. Flowers gratefully acknowledg­ed, or a donation may be made to Heavenly Creatures, Beagle Paws, the SPCA, or to a charity of one’s choice. The family will be accepting visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home at 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, April 2 from 12-9 p.m. Wednesday April 3 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Carnell’s Memorial Chapel on Wednesday April 3 at 2 p.m., with an interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Please note that Carnell’s is a nut free building due to staff member with a severe allergy. Thank you for your cooperatio­n.
