Predeceased by his baby daughter, Lori; parents, Ron and Madeline; and his brother, Ray. Left to Celebrate his Life and keep his memory alive, his wife and best friend, Bonnie (Crummell); son, Sean, of whom he was so proud; daughter-inlaw, Tara; grandchildren, Nolan, Marley and Shay, of whom he was equally proud; brothers, Ron (Joanne) and Derm (Bonnie); sisters, Eleanor (John) Mcgrath, Charlotte Ryan (Ed Whalen) and Danette (Tom) Dooley; sister-in-law, Joyce Reardon and her family; in-laws: Bruce Crummell (Wenda), Bev Crummell, Brenda Butt, Barb Foster, Boyd Crummell (Cheryl) and Blair Hillier (Sterling); nieces and nephews, Kim, Kerri, Wendy, Aaron, Jay, Glen, Mike, Leanne, Kerry, Nicole, Natasha, Darryl, Darlene, Kelly, Krista, Kory, Kayla, Kyle and Colin and their families; many great-nieces and nephews, other extended families and friends. John also leaves his most devoted companion Scamp, who was John’s protector. If you thought you were getting close to John while Scamp was in the room, you were sadly mistaken. John was a lifelong and faithful fan of the Montreal Canadians. His greatest passions and pass times were crossword puzzles, horror movies, reading, the Irish NL Show on Saturday mornings, VOWR, walks with his dog, and Coronation Street. But most of all, John enjoyed cutting and splitting firewood. He sure did love his woodstove. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Community Health in Conception Bay South and also the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service as per John’s wishes. Donations in John’s memory may be made to an animal rescue group of your choice.

“So fill to me the parting glass And drink a health whate’er befalls, Then gently rise and softly call, Good night and joy be to you all” -Shaun Dovey
