STONE, Harry

-

Harry Stone – September. 5, 1946 – April 6, 2024. Harry Stone passed peacefully on Saturday, April 6th after a hard fought battle with Leukemia. Harry defied the odds and squeezed every last drop out of life. Predeceased by father and mother Captain Henry and Eileen Stone and brother Gordon. Leaving to celebrate his life are his wife of 53 years, Pat Stone, children: Kelly (Steve) Hawkins and Brad (Cindy) Stone, grandchildren: Corbin, Riley, Evan, and Lauren. Also leaving to celebrate his life is an endless list of his best friends. If you’re reading this, odds are you were one of them. He made us all feel very special and we can assure you his love for each of you was genuine. A very special thanks to the many doctors and nurses who helped Harry in his fight with cancer. Their compassionate care made this journey as gentle as it could be. Harry was not a religious man. In fact he was a devout atheist. He never believed in the afterlife, which must be why he lived this life so very well. I’ll say he wasn’t entirely right though. People do live on after they pass. They live on in the acts of kindness that they do, in the lives they change for the better, in the differences they make while they are here. These acts pass on through one another like ripples on a pond. Harry made one hell of a big splash while he was here. Those ripples will continue and be felt for many years to come. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at The Space on 72 Harbour Drive Friday, April 12th from 7:30-10 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please go buy something from a local musician or artist. Or just help someone. Keep the ripple going. Full obituary available at: https://www.barretts.ca/ obituaries/harry-stone?obi d=31144334#/obituaryinfo
