1 . What is your full name?

Connie Lynn Reid

. Where and when were you born and where do you live today?

I was born at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook in November 1971. Today, I live in Reidvillle.

3 . What is one thing you would like people to know about you?

I have a strong passion for municipal government, people that work in municipal government, and organizati­ons such as PMA, and MNL.

4 . What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I’m a nervous public speaker. But, in a group setting with colleagues, I could talk until I was blue in the face. But to stand up on a podium and address a full membership, I get nervous.

5 . What is the hardest thing you have done?

The hardest thing I have done would be having a sick child. My daughter was born with ventricula­r tachycardi­a, of the heart.

We didn’t know if she was gonna make it. It was one of the most stressful times of my life.

And for context, she’s 19 right now and she just completed her first year in nursing, so thank god.

6 . Can you describe one experience that changed your life?

The birth of my children. Especially my firstborn, my boy, Cutis.

My greatest two blessings are my kids.

7 . What is your greatest indulgence

Chocolate.

8 . What is your favourite book?

That’s a hard one because I am an avid reader; anything Stephen King book but probably, if I had to choose, The Green Mile.

9 . What is your favourite movie?

One that I watch every year is “A Time To Kill” with Matthew

Mcconaughe­y. It’s one I tell people if they haven’t watched it, they need to watch it.

10 . What music do you like to listen to?

Country without a doubt, I was country when country wasn’t cool. I love anything from Reba to new artists like Morgan Wallen.

11 . How do you like to relax?

I take one hour in the evening after everything is done and I read. I sit in the corner of the couch, covered in my favourite blanket. I also hike on the weekends and through the summer, I find hiking very relaxing.

12 . Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Courtney Cox. I watched ‘Friends’ and I enjoyed it, I related to Monica and not just because I had black hair and blue eyes.

. What is your greatest fear?

Fire.

. What is your greatest joy?

My children, of course.

. What is your most treasured possession?

I would say my hope chest that my father built for me; I’ve had it since I was 13. It’s where you put all your momentos: I have a bunch of things from my children, and cards that my husband gave me.

16 . What is the best advice you got from a parent or mentor?

Words that I always live by, that were first said to me by my dad, “Whatever you take on in life, all you need is a little courage.”

17 . What would you say is your best quality and what would you say your worst quality is?

My best quality would be my loyalty. My worst is I find it hard to say no to somebody.

18 . Where is your favourite place in the world?

People may not believe this but on top of any mountain or any hiking trail in our beautiful province. Nothing that compares.

19 . What advice would you give to your 12-year-old self?

Stop being so shy, you can speak; Don’t let anybody get over your time.

20 . Which three people would join you for your dream dinner party?

If I was having a dream dinner party, it would be Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. I always wanted to be a Disney princess.
