A. I grew up outside of Windsor.

A. I currently provide childcare in my home in North Kentville. I’ve also taken courses from NSCC in human resources management and business organization.
Q. Why have you chosen to run in this election campaign?
A. I have chosen to run in this election because I have an interest in helping people. In my youth, I was extensively involved in volunteerism. While sitting on local and provincial youth councils, I was given the opportunity to see the positive changes that can be made in the community.
Q. What strengths would you bring to council if you are elected?
A. I am a people person who is passionate about helping those around me. I am innovative and resourceful to finding solutions. Running a small business, while also working part-time and raising three children, I know the importance of time management and organizational skills. I know active listening is essential to effective communication. I believe that collaboration and flexibility is important when working together as a team.
Q. What do you see as the biggest strength/asset of the community/ region and what measures would you take to capitalize on them?
A. Kings County, to me, is community. Even as we grow, we have continued to hold on to that home town pride. There are people who move here for the change of pace. Within our county lines, there’s bountiful produce, family fun in agritourism, and room for expansion. I think to capitalize on this, we need to work towards a universal plan for active transportation and access to recreation. To attract more people and diversify our community we need to ensure they can stay connected to that sense of home.
Q. What one message do you hope gets out to the voters during this election campaign?
A. Please get out and vote. Voter turnout in our county has not been the greatest in elections past. It’s important that you find someone who best represents your beliefs and is able to be bring what is important to you to the table.
