A. Councillor for the Town of Berwick.

Q. Where are you from?

A. I live in Berwick.

Q. What did you do before you decided to run for office?

A. I first ran in 1991 and was employed at the Nova Scotia Youth Centre and volunteered with a variety of organizations. I retired from the province of Nova Scotia in 2017 where I was the regional manager for the Department of Culture and Heritage. I have continued volunteering with a variety of community organizations.

Q. Why have you chosen to run in this election campaign?

A. Berwick is a great community and I have lived here my adult life. I have raised a family here and want to continue to give back to the community. I have been a councillor for over 25 years and want to continue to bring my experience and knowledge to the table. There are things unfinished that I would like to be a part of including helping to guide the town through the pandemic.

Q. What strengths would you bring to council if you are elected?

A. I bring lots of experience, knowledge and dedication to council. Over the years I have served on every committee of council and have been the deputy mayor. I have chaired and led many major initiatives. In my

Q. What do you see as the biggest strength/asset of the community/ region and what measures would you take to capitalize on them?

A. The ability of the people to rise to the occasion and support efforts in the community. Berwick has many great recreation facilities and programs. The town has led many green initiatives through Berwick Electric including the Wind Farm, Think Well Shift and the upcoming community solar gardens.

Q. What one message do you hope gets out to the voters during this election campaign?

A. I am always open to hear from people in the community, both their ideas and concerns. While COVID guidelines suggest reducing face-toface contact, I look forward to finding ways to meet people in the community.
