Kings Vision Grants are doled out to organizations undertaking projects that directly align with one of the Municipality’s Key Strategic Priorities: Strong Communities, Environmental Stewardship, Economic Development, Good Governance and Financial Sustainability. Eighteen organizations received Kings Vision Grant funding in the 2021-22 budget year, with the approved funding amounts ranging from $231,000 to be released over three years to $9,750.
Counting the remaining community grant programs, funding to community partners and non-profit tax exemptions, the municipality’s 2021-22 budget allowed for roughly $2.36 million in grant funding.
“The Community Grants Program demonstrates council’s commitment to working with non-profit organizations, Villages, and youth, providing programs, infrastructure, services, and events, that enhance the vibrancy of our communities,” the municipality’s Community Grants Policy explains.
The last round of Community Hall Assistance Program funding will provide 11 halls located throughout Kings County with support for: operational costs, renovations, heat pump installations, parking lot improvements or accessibility upgrades.
