With pro­found sad­ness, we, the fam­ily, an­nounce the pass­ing of Mary Mar­garet (Nash) Macneil of Grass Cove, Iona, on July 8, 2018 at home. Mary Mar­garet was born on March 24, 1957 in Whit­ney Pier and was raised in West­mount. She was the el­dest of the late John Peter and Agnes (Anderson) Nash. She is sur­vived by her hus­band, Joe; sis­ters, Deb­bie (An­thony) Mack­in­non and son, Christo­pher, Syd­ney Forks, Pa­tri­cia (Mike) Macneil and son, Steven, Syd­ney and Linda Nash, Syd­ney, and broth­ers, Michael and Ger­ard, Syd­ney. Upon grad­u­at­ing from Riverview Ru­ral High School in 1975, Mary was em­ployed with the Cape Bre­ton Dairy. Mary was the most car­ing and kind­est wife, daugh­ter, sis­ter, sis­ter-in-law, aunt, niece and friend. She will be for­ever cher­ished and loved by her en­tire fam­ily. A fu­neral Mass was held on July 13 at St. Columba Church, Iona, with Fa­ther Vargheese of­fi­ci­at­ing. Cre­ma­tion has taken place and burial will take place at a later date. Do­na­tions can be made to the C.B. Can­cer Centre or a char­ity of choice. Ar­range­ments are un­der the care and di­rec­tion of Macaskill’s Fu­neral Home, Bad­deck.
