It is with sor­row that we an­nounce the pass­ing of our mom, Noreen Edith Hud­son, in her 93rd year on Fri­day, July 27, at Alder­wood in Baddeck, with fam­ily at her side. Born Dec. 5, 1925, in Eureka, Pic­tou County, to the late Wil­fred and Wilena (Scott) Ward, she was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily.

She was pre­de­ceased by her par­ents, as well as her brother, Wil­bert, and sis­ters, Jean and Les­lie. Mom was also pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Roy Fisher Hud­son in 1999; daugh­ter-in-law, Linette, and grand­daugh­ter-in-law, Ronda.

Mom is sur­vived by sis­ter-in-law, Mina Sinclair; sons, Brian, Sandy (Jan­ice), Ste­wart (Louise) and Gra­ham; daugh­ters, Elaine Al­li­son (Gre­gor) and June Mackenzie (Jim); grand­chil­dren, Jonathan (Cary Ann), Jef­frey (Chrissy) and Holly (Joe) Hud­son, Izaak (Katie) and Ni­cho­lus (Kerri) Hud­son, Iain (Hol­lie) Al­li­son, Elaine and Emma Mackenzie; great-grand­chil­dren, Fis­cher, Brock, Avery, Mila Hud­son and Quinn Ni­cholas.

Mom’s ca­reer, when not cor­ralling six ram­bunc­tious kids, was nurs­ing. She spent many years as an RN at Alder­wood. While Mom’s pas­sions were gar­den­ing, knit­ting and bak­ing, she es­pe­cially en­joyed her bridge club and games of crib.

Mom was a re­cip­i­ent of her 70th year Jewel, Easter Star Celtic Star Chap­ter #19.

Mom also en­joyed fol­low­ing the Royal Fam­ily and had the plea­sure of meet­ing HRH Princess Diana on the oc­ca­sion of her visit to Nova Sco­tia.

Ser­vices will be held on Wednes­day, Aug. 1, 2018, at Green­wood United Church, Baddeck, vis­i­ta­tion will be at 1-2:30 p.m., fu­neral to fol­low at 3 p.m. with Rev. Mary Jo Har­ri­son of­fi­ci­at­ing, fu­neral will be­gin with an Eastern Star ser­vice, pri­vate fam­ily burial to fol­low.
