Age 54 years of We’ko­qma’q First Na­tion, who sud­denly passed away on July 12, 2018, at her home. Born in Baddeck on July 14, 1963, she was the daugh­ter of the late Alexan­der (Alex R.) Googoo and Pauline Googoo (Gould). Glenda was well known for her artist abil­i­ties in her arts and crafts. She al­ways seen some­thing artis­tic in any­thing she can get a hold of. She had nu­mer­ous friends from near and afar. Glenda was an artist, beader, bas­ket maker, painter, seam­stress, camper, ba­si­cally a "jack of all trades" as there wasn’t any­thing she wouldn’t try. Her jobs in­cluded land­scap­ing, bead­work classes & babysit­ting. Most of all she loved to spend time with "her Dylan", fam­ily and close friends. Gollin’s & Dianne’s Lane will never be the same with­out her and the love she had for her nu­mer­ous cats and dogs. You could never come to visit her for a few min­utes and you al­ways left with some­thing she just made. She was well known for her sense of hu­mour and sto­ry­telling. She is sur­vived by her one and only son, Dylan Googoo; broth­ers, Frankie Googoo (Shan­non), Don­nie, and spe­cial brother, Dougie Paul all of We’ko­qma’q; Gabriel & Daryl of Wagmatcook; sis­ters, Rara Gould (Terry), Draw, Lilly, Vivy, Carolynn all of We’ko­qma’q; Sheila Wil­liams (Daniel) of Lin­coln, N.B. Nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews; god­chil­dren, Alichia (Wa­suek) Googoo, Robbi-lynn Gould & Bar­bara Jean Googoo; god­mother, Pearl Googoo. Also, count­less friends from near and far. She was pre­de­ceased by brother, Terry Googoo; ma­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Mary Jane & Frank Gould; fra­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Michael P. & Ellen Googoo; aunts, Freda Bernard, Emily Phillips, Mar­garet Si­mon (Ekkilit), Mary B Bernard, Ger­manie Martin; un­cles, Si­mon (Paqsima) Gould, Wil­liam Googoo, Stan­ley Googoo, Ryan J. Googoo, Gabriel Googoo, Henry Googoo, Don­ald Googoo. A fu­neral Mass was held July 23 at St. Katari Holy Trin­ity Church, We’ko­qma’q with Fa­ther Con­rad Ed­wards of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial fol­lowed in the par­ish ceme­tery. Fu­neral ar­range­ments are un­der the care and di­rec­tion of Den­nis Haver­stock Fu­neral Chapel, Why­co­co­magh.
